Nature Profiles is a series of short films that highlight natural Florida and the people who are dedicated to the study and conservation of the natural environment. A new film will be released every other Tuesday and bring these issues to life prior to the release of the final film, book, and exhibition in 2017.
Each film in the Nature Profiles series will be three minutes in length—that means 180 seconds, no more and no less. In a world inundated with an infinite amount of media vying for our attention, a three minute film can showcase a natural history story that anyone can watch during their coffee break or on the train to work. Each film will be tightly crafted using exactly 4,320 individual frames to tell a concise, yet detailed narrative. Every film will tell a single story that will fit into one of four categories: species profile, natural phenomena, research and conservation, or ecosystem profile.
This is an ambitious undertaking with an accelerated production schedule in which a new Nature Profiles short will be released every two weeks, on Tuesday. Each episode will be distributed on the web through Vimeo, YouTube, and iTunes podcasts and featured on the main website.
